Thought I would replace my hard drive in my 2009 iMac, decided as I’m basically useless at most electronics that I would go for easy option and put in exactly the same one as I took out.
I thought it went quite well.
Turned it on and got the chime and a lovely white screen and that’s it.

So I googled/searched and have now tried everything I can think of including using the original OS disc and holding down the button on the keyboard but nothing, cannot boot in recovery or anything.

my question is this, does the keyboard (wireless) still work when it’s not booting up??
I haven’t got a different keyboard to use.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

oh by the way, when I took it apart there was a little wire top left, what is that for? I munched it up a bit.
Thanks in advance.
