I have searched around, and seen several different methods on this, just looking from the opinions of the best way to do this. ...

I'm putting in a bigger hard drive in the laptop, and going to do a clean install, starting over clean from scratch. My phone is jailbroken, & I have a ton of stuff on it.
I'm looking for your opinions on the BEST software / method of being able to do a new install of iTunes, and being able to save all of the data/ settings on my phone. And having everything stay as it was before the new hard drive.
I don't want to have to start over from scratch on the phone.
Basically, I want to be able to backup everything on my phone into a new iTunes install, then just re-sync everything back to normal. But from what I've heard, if I just plug in my phone to a new install of iTunes, I will loose everything???
I've read several differnt ways of doing it, I just want to make sure I choose the best one. I don't want to take any chances of screwing it up, and loosing everything.
Any sugestions would be appreciated.

Have you synced your iphone data to your current laptop?

If not do so, make a back up of your hard drive files and copy everything over to the new hard drive...that will be a lot easier than having to try different tools to get the music, sms, contacts etc out of your phone

Yeah, it was synced before the old hard drive was removed, but it's having problems copying over to the new hard drive, and it's looking like it's going to have to just be a clean install on the new one. Can't seem to get everything to copy over from the old. The pics and Data are fine, but the applications, and softwares aren't.
