These are posted on the front page, but they still look the same on my installation?

Anybody else see these or is one guy trolling everybody?

That's correct. A new hard drive icon has been included in DP 6.

You have to clear OS X's icon cache and make sure that there aren't any custom icons on any internal, external, or removable drives that you'd like the new icons to show on. Here are the commands:

sudo find /private/var/folders/ -name com.apple.dock.iconcache -exec rm {} \;
sudo find /private/var/folders/ -name com.apple.iconservices -exec rm -rf {} \;
sudo mv /Library/Caches/com.apple.iconservices.store /Library/Caches/com.apple.ic

Sorry for being a noob, I'm not a developer tester for OS X hence I don't have it installed on my rMBP.

Just wondering, is there a new standard icon for our MacBooks with SSD as standard for the Macintosh HD partition? Or is it just an updated HDD icon?

strange that seeing how most of not all macs are moving towards SSD, yet the icon is only showing a HDD version.

Agreed (assuming your referring to a lack of consistency). Leadership at Apple on style guidelines appears to be non-existent. It's like very department is doing something different.
When did any Apple official say that everything has to be 100% flat in OS X Yosemite?
