hi all, i'm new to the idea of the 'cloud', i was actually thinking of using iCloud because it's from Apple. my needs are: cross-platform(Mac, iOS, PC, Android, WinPhone) accessibility and compatibility, photo storage, notes, calendar(not absolutely necessary), and reminders(not absolutely necessary), maybe save a couple short video clips, be able to access and work offline and sync feature needs to work really well. my current devices are a PC, Mac, and iPod Touch, but i may buy an Android or WinPhone in the future so i don't want to be locked to one platform as i imagine it'd be hard for me to switch everything over to some place else.
since iCloud is made by Apple, would it be possible for Apple to ever say "Ok, this is only available on Mac and iOS from now on?"
also, I have a much easier time trusting Apple with my data because their principal revenue is from hardware sales while Google's revenue is from advertising and their advertising searches emails to find keywords etc. i'm going to make a thread on iCloud to hear opinions from users on here.
can someone help me out with the idea of public 'wi-fi hotspots' as well? are these insecure? could somebody see my data that i upload to iCloud and grab it while it's being transferred?
what do i get with iCloud that i don't get with Evernote?
thanks for any help!
