Hey all,

I recently purchased a new iMac 5k i9 with 8gb ram and 512gb ssd. My late 2014 iMac 5k started having terrible screen burn in issues. I feel like there may have been a way for me to prevent this from happening to the screen. Does anyone have any advice on how to ensure that the the screen on this new iMac does not have the same issues in 5 years like the other?

Thanks

Use a screen saver that "cuts in" after 15 minutes.
Create a "hot corner" (I prefer the upper-right-hand corner)
Get into the habit of "shoving the cursor" into the corner whenever you walk away from the iMac for more than a few minutes.

I have read that the 2014 iMacs (perhaps 2013 and 2015 as well?) were particularly vulnerable to "image retention". I've not owned one so can't offer anything more than that.
