New iMac 27" i5

Please forgive if this has been asked and answered (nothing found on the search). I'm planning updating my 2007 (or 06) white iMac with 2011 model this summer, once the new iOS is released, however I see that the one I have my eye on still has USB 2.0. Does anyone know if Apple are not going 3.0 and going with their propitiatory T-bolt instead ??

4 x USB 2.0, 1 x Firewire 800, 2 x Thunderbolt. No USB 3.0...

It's a damn sight quicker than USB 2.0, dude.

I have an obnoxiously large media collection, and I was transferring 1TB of data the other week - which I'm accustomed to taking about fifteen hours via USB 2.0 - but over USB 3.0 it took (comparatively) no-time.

That said, Thunderbolt promises to be quicker, still.

neither, but if I'm spending 2k for a desktop it should have the latest technology. I have 2.0 on my 6 year old iMac now...surely they can move forward from that....or not...

Well, Thunderbolt is a move forward, mate... theoretically, it's even a move forward from USB 3.0, because it can truck twice the data per unit of time.

Sure, so there's nothing out for the Thunderbolt platform, yet. But it's got Intel and Apple behind it - it's not going to fail.
