its not if something goes wrong in these years 2 and 3 , its the cost , if your logicboard fails or your display fails a repair cost near as much a new iMac , and things like that happen quiet frequently and will make your iMac a total write off

Anybody else click on this thread just to find out what a garantie was?

Did make me think of an Imac made from Granite which would be kinda cool. :)

I think its worth it. Also if you sell the Man when it is 2 years old, you can advertise that it still has 1 year of the warranty left.

It is most certainly worth it in my opinion. If your machine fails...Apple will fix it. If you have a problem you have free tech support. Got my first 24" I-mac because my e-mac failed and they replaced it with $400 to upgrade to the 24".
I more than got my $169 back. I won't ever get a new machine without it.

From bitter experience I've proved that AppleCare is well worth it. My first iMac decided to have a power supply failure when it was 18 months old! The cost of repair was more than the extended warranty would have cost me!

BTW, there's no need to purchase AppleCare until the computer is 11 months old.
