If i would buy this new imac 5k (2020) can i install Os Mavericks, and install my older software apps running under Mavericks? Then I would like to upgrade from Mavericks to El Capitan, and at the end to High Sierra. I wil use the same software that I'm using now on my iMac i7 2010 under High Sierra.
The only difference would be, I have, maybe a last new Intel mac.
Would that be possible?

Thanks in advance!

The 2020 iMac is likely preinstalled with Catalina. Older versions are not supported, although there may be ways to install older versions at your own risk. The simplest solution? Keep your old Mac or upgrade your software...

risk Ok, but my main question is, could I install Yes or No? and follow the procedures with ending on High Sierra?

You CANNOT boot a 2020 iMac from any OS older than Catalina on a 2020 iMac.
No way, no how.
End of story.

What you COULD do:
Install a virtual machine such as Parallels or VMWare Fusion, and run the older OS "inside it".

That's THE answer to my question! Thanks 🙏

When I knew there was hope for some same solution on the next generation Arm-Based Macs With Apple Silicon Chips, then I would wait for them?!🥳
