What do you'll think the chances of Apple releasing a New/Updated iMac at Apple Expo Paris in September 2006 are? Will the Update come before the Apple Expo Paris? After?

X1900s? Haha, that's a good one. Just like the new iMac's 0.1" case! :p It'll be more likely for a variation of the X1600 (XT/Pro) or a low-end X1800.

I think it will happen before October. Merom is more likely, but I'm not ruling out the possibility of a Conroe iMac.

I'm hoping for a new iMac at WWDC conference. Something along the lines of, "Oh look our entire line is 64-bit." The iMac is long overdue for an update too.

I think the iMac will be updated before September.

Before that, Apple need to release the BT Mighty Mouse! They should also consider launching a simple two-button BT mouse without the fancy side buttons.

Your expectations, at those prices, are way too high. I also think no Conroe...

Merom just drops right into the current socket where Yonah resides. No need for a redesign of the internals for a new chip.

I expect the eMac to be a Mac Mini slammed into a cool semi-slim all in one similar to the iMac, but thicker.

Actually, the eMac might be a rounded MacMini with a screen on top. Just like iMac G4 (slightly redesigned). That would be awesome.

And to all you others, if we change it to:
X1800 in the iMacs (still 256 MB)
Meroms at respectively:
eMac: 1.83 GHz, 2 MB L2 cache, 667 MHz FSB
17" iMac: 2.0 GHz, 4 MB L2 cache, 667 MHz FSB
20" iMac: 2.16 GHz, 4 MB L2 cache, 667 MHz FSB
Anything else a bit unrealistic (except perhaps Leopard)...

That would be awesome if the new iMacs came out in/ before September. Or atleast before the end of the year. Maybe, with Apple seemingly deciding to make their consumer products white AND black, a black iMac isn't a beyond hope. :)

Dude... where is everyone getting these eMacs from? The eMac is dead...

Personally, I don't see drastically changed iMacs coming out for quite some time. Geez, the Intel iMac has only been out 5 months. If anything it'll just be some sort of speed bump.

My 2¢

The eMac was never officially declared "dead". Yeah, sure they may not use the same name, but I think they will, and it may look different, but chances are they will release a new version for continued educational purposes...

1. The eMac isn't dead. It's available currently to educational institutions only.

2. Speed bump! Now! The MacBook Pro got one. I'm without a Mac. :(

The iMac is getting Conroe, and it will have the X1800 video card, as will the MacBook Pro.

That's the truth.

iMac= laptop processor.
iMac will not work with Conroe. Merom, but not Conroe. The Mac Pros, maybe. But if you want the iMac to keep it's small footprint, the Conroe isn't feasible.

Seriously. I totally agree with you. I tried out the Mighty Mouse and I love it. BUT, why is the cord so short? and Why can't it be wireless? Battery issues?
