After unwrapping my new 27" iMac, I found this near the top left of the screen:

I looked at it from the side and couldn't see any scratch yet looking straight on, you can see something behind the glass.

Spoke with Apple and they said they will ship out a new replacement for it after I send this one back.

Is this problem or not and should I follow through with replacement?

The iMac should be in perfect condition without any obvious defects when it arrives.

Yes, send it back to Apple.
 
How is someone else suppose to answer this question for you? You either are bothered by it or you arent. None of us care if you have a chip on your screen.
