Hey everyone. I just wanted to say thanks for everyone's opinions here in the forums. After weeks of reading, I finally decided to get an iMac. It came last night and it's amaaazing! :D

24", 2.8, 500gb, 4gb, and nvidia

Couldn't be happier! No screen problems or anything.

My first mac was the air a few months ago, so I'm a little overwhelmed with all this power. What should I do first? :)

**only ploblem I'm having is this one https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/523743/ **

Congrats on the new machine! My iMac just left out today and will arrive sometime early next week.

I would fool around with the iSight camera and Photo Booth. Maybe make a fun personal movie of video and still captures with iMovie.

Another thing to really make you drool over it is to pop in a DVD, use the remote, sit back and watch a movie on that beautiful 24" monitor!

Just a couple easy freebie ideas to break in the new machine and have some fun with it...

I say listen to some trippy songs and turn the iTunes visualizer on. You may just get lost in all the colors and motions for an hour or so ;)

Lucky you. Great box, I found it to be rather quick. The 800mhz DDR2 is nice as well.

I'm glad you are having a better out of the box experience then I have. Mine arrived with a dead DVD drive, then went away for a week to be repaired, came back with screen problems, now is in the process of a replacement being shipped. Lost time... little over two weeks!

I find the video rendering to be pretty quick. CrossOver for mac is a nice addition.

Oh, well I know all the basics. [photo booth, software update...]

I was wondering what I should do to test out the power of the machine?
Any great game demo's online? Things like that.

If you have fast internet connection, go and watch apple movie trailers in HD quality :)

Try Crysis, however you'll have to install Windows (via BootCamp) first!
That's the first thing I'm gonna try when my new iMac finally arrives. :D

The game uses the processor, the video card and the RAM equally strong, so that would be a great test for the new machine.

There's even a free demo of the game available!

Enjoy your new iMac!!!

Post pictures? The more pics i see of other people's new iMacs, the more motivated i'm going to be to get mine!!! lol.

the iMac is a wonderful machine, although I only have the 20", it's still far enjoyable than my MB w/c has a far smaller screen. although, I prefer using the trackpad over the mouse anyday.:)

enjoy it and congratulations on your purchase.

Exactly what I done when I got mine! Although mines only the 20'' :(

Congrats on the new Mac!:D

I'm at work, so I only have a picture from my phone. I'll put up more later though.

I must say though, you can look at 9829854 pictures of iMacs, but they never quite compare to how amazing it looks in your house.

The best desktop I have ever used. Quality is exceptional. Sold mine for MBP because of mobility issues.

looks cool! is that a screensaver? if so what one?

hey, actually it's the leopard first-time start-up video that goes through all universe flashing all the different languages and stuff

really cool. much more pleasant than turning on a pc for the first time.
