New imac c2d wont start up

I have a new imac and it wont start up (as the title says).

Heres what exactly happened.

1: I tried out front row and wanted to try the dvd section but that wouldnt work as the dvd was another region.

2: I then decided to watch a copy of a movie i had on the computer through front row. I fell asleep while watching it and didnt wake up until the next morning, realizing that my alarm (i have "Alarm Clock" running) but the screen was shut off but the computer had its light on.

3: I moved the mouse and on the screen was the kernel panic window. So i shut the computer down by holding "in" the power button.

4: I came home from work some 9-10 hours later and turned it on but nothing happened. The screen dosent turn on and theres no chime either. Just the light and the disc drive spins for a few seconds.

Anyone know what the problem is and how one could solve it?

it's a hardware problem for sure. If you just got it, take it back and demand a new one. A new mac should never, ever act like that. If it's older, get it fixed. Don't fix it yourself - it's a hardware issue and covered under warranty.
