Hey everyone,

I just bought a24" iMac with the base RAM and bought 3gb through Crucial. Can I install this RAM before my first system bootup, or should I load up the computer for the first time with the base RAM before swapping it out for the Crucial sticks? I'm guessing I should first boot with the base RAM to ensure the computer works correctly and then power down to install the upgrade sticks.

Thanks,

Alex

That plan sounds good. You always want to ensure the system works before you change anything - it can save a lot of hassle down the road.

yeah use it for a couple of days with the base ram then upgrade,, taht way you can really tell the difference and that's just well......cool
