Apparently, my Dad found out that the new imac and leopard is delayed till October at the least. It's caused by the rushing of trying to get the iphone out. I'll try and find a link to it because im sure alot of people dont believe me.

Is this a joke? EVERYBODY knows about Leopard being delayed! There was a story on Thursday I think (https://www.macrumors.com/2007/04/12/apple-delays-leopard-release/). Apple stock dropped almost 2 points. As for the iMac, nobody knows.

just because leopard is delayed doesn't mean new imacs are, too. apple doesn't hold back hardware releases because the software isn't ready.

How would they? What kind of hardware could they possibly have that would not work without an entirely new operating system? A multitouch screen?

There were rumors that this iMac would be radically different
it could be a single LCD with a built-in keyboard (similar interface to the iphone)

Just wondering, where did all this talk of touch-screen Macs come from? I've seen some of the topics but they're huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge. I'm not entirely sure how practical a touch screen would be on a big iMac in the first place and how many people would use it?

This is what I've been saying as well. It's not like a mouse interface for desktop computing is a terrible thing. I think a touchscreen would annoy the daylights out of me, not to mention require me to shell out even more cash for something that is minimally useful. What would you do with a touchscreen iMac...reach across your desk to browse porn by hand? I wouldn't want to clean off fingerprints daily either. Yes, Mac would get a "woooooooo" factor if they introduced a touchscreen iMac. But unless they have an innovative reason to implement it, it would be wasted energy to design and wasted money to purchase for the vast majority of computer users.

Well exactly. It seems to be an extremely limited target audience for the home market. But I wasn't sure if this was all internet rumours that have spiralled out of control or if its something Apple have said they're looking at.

Surely it would be more use on iPods, laptops or a tablet style laptop/desktop if they ever did one?
