Looking for people who have seen this in person (I haven't).

Been hearing that the new iMac's glossy display doesn't do as well as the old iMac's display in viewing angle tests. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

The old iMac had a pretty good viewing angle, but the current MacBooks, which the new iMacs seem to be borrowing some technology (keyboard, glossy screen), have a horrid viewing angle.

I only saw one for a moment today as my Apple store only had one at the genius bar they were setting up for someone. The viewing angle was much better than the Macbook displays. Looked pretty similar to the old iMacs I think. (I was considering either a 17" Macbook or an iMac but the display on the 17" helped rule that out).

20" viewing angle

Is the viewing angle on the 20" iMac a lot worse in comparison to the 24"? I know the numbers are 160 and 178 degrees respectively, but is it obvious?

I'm probably buying one of the two tonight, but my Apple store doesn't have display iMacs set up yet.

won't buy

I was going to buy one, but don't think I will be able to. The Glossy is just too much of a distraction for me. I bought a macbook and WANTED to love it. I DID love it, I loved the form factor and performance, but the GLOSSY just killed it for me. Yeah, the new imacs are sleek and sexy and juicy, but damb, what were they THINKING making it only glossy.

Just watching in the store, I couldn't stand the distraction on the sides of the screen around me.
