Anyone know when the new 27" iMac will be around and what the changes might be? I am wondering if I should hold off a few months before buying.

Thanks for any insights...

Some of the news sites say it should be early to mid-May, which is the end of the normal update. I, too, am waiting for a new 27" and I'm thinking that they will update with Thunderbolt as well as i7.

ehh..I haven't found a single site saying mid-may. Everything is based on two things. First the Brian Tong rumor. He said in the next 4-6 weeks, well 4 weeks have past since then, so people can stop saying in the next 4-6 by now, because time doesn't stand still. The other thing is the buyers guide that says dont buy update soon... News sites doesn't know **** about imac release. As everyone else they're only speculating.

If we look back on the other imac releases we could see that many reports of low stocks on imacs were circulating especially 1-2 weeks before the release(I dont mean macrumors forum reports)
These kind of news has not yet reached that kind of magnitude that they will before the release. But something tells me that Brian Tong is right, but that is only a feeling I have.

The thing is that on this forum people only speculate , we have not yet seen any spectacular rumors pointing to release in the next two weeks except the Brian Tong thing. Should be more leaks of info before the release i think.

bellman what are u talking about lmao :p

Brian Tong said LATE APRIL, EARLY MAY

is it late april? i dont think so.. is it early may? surely not :p So be patient buddy. I believe brian tong, he wouldnt lie to everyone on Cnet, he said that on his Cnet show so that proves he wasnt bluffing

yes it will be the 22 and then you have 2 more week to reach early may. by then i think it will arrive.

He might not be lying, he could just be mistaking, but you're right about the dates, we're not there yet.

Hope we get a Mac mini update along side the iMac...I mean, what else is there to upgrade? The MacBook, but as of now, Apple is likely getting many people to jump up from the MB to the MBP for the i5

yea its true he might be mistaken but heres what im thinking ,if he wasnt sure then why would he even say it will come out in 4-6 weeks, it will make him look like an idiot and next time no one will believe him, Brian Tong has quiete a good image in the tech world at the moment with the apple byte on Cnet and its not like he was saying a rumor , he said that his SOURCE told him that info so basically if it ends up false then trust me he will become a joke and no one will believe any of his news next time around no matter what he says :)

Besides, he clearly says to "WAIT FOR IT!" , if he wasnt sure the update was coming and around the corner then why would he tell us not to buy an iMac now? what would He gain from that u know.. :D

On the other hand ,if Brian tongs info comes true then that will improve his credibility in the tech world and it will make him much better.

I'll just wait

Will Japan crisis impact timing?
Will it be a significant upgrade?
When will delivery in the Netherlands/Europe follow? :)
Thanks for the input so far
