Hi just wondering of the chances of the new iMac coming out during the back to school promo.

I believe that only the iPod's have there model numbers listed on the offer. This means that any new computer hardware purchased would meet the offers requirements and not a specific model of it.

Most likely it will.. Unless it comes out in September for MacWorld Paris (something like that)...

However the iPod promo is mainly, I think, for students and notebooks and not desktops.

I also think they are trying to empty out their Macbook and iPod stocks before upgrading. (I heard that the Macbook hasn't been fully upgraded w/ Santa Rosa).

Sorry if I got anything wrong, if I did, feel free to correct me.

Apple likes selling notebooks, to be sure, but the iMac certainly is a part of this deal. You are right about the MacBook not having Santa Rosa, and I'm sure it won't be updated until long after the promotion ends.

I'm getting the iMac as soon as they updated it, and then getting a MacBook when it has a real graphics card.

I think they will certainly release a new iMac before the promo ends. If not, they are going to miss the educational purchases throughout August. People don't want year-old technology at today's prices as they enter college.

New iMacs very, very soon

I hope you right. This is driving me nuts!

:) MacWarehouse UK Have NO iMACS IN STOCK (extremely unusual!) and only a few 17" models in 2-3 days from now: (17" will be phased out anyway...).
Hope this is good news for those - like me - who've held off from buying 'old' iMacs since March 07! Though all vendors (Apple too, of course) still headline them as 'The New iMacs'.

That does irritate me a bit that they advertise the "new iMacs". For those that are new to mac it makes it look like the company is not on the cutting edge because their "new" machines are out of date. They have new phones though...

Yeah, I'm really hoping for a new iMac before the promo ends because my current iPod photo is getting pretty banged up. I've been waiting since December which I shouldn't have been doing but thought new ones would be out soon; especially around January. :(
