I needed an external enclosure for a backup/storage drive but couldn't find anything suitable. Turns out I found it already on my desk as I used it my mini. It's a Newertech miniStack v3. http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Newer%20Technology/FWU2ESMSV3/

eSATA, firewire 800/400, and a 3 port usb hub. The extra usb ports are really handy. I partitioned the 750gb into backup (~300gb) and file storage (~400gb).

The white/aluminum clashed a bit with the iMac, so out came a can of black Krylon. Turned out pretty good.

Great idea, I like it !

Was you able to take the top off to paint it, or did you mask?
