Hey,

I got the new 20" iMac a few weeks ago, but have recently been having some problems. Programs that never crash on any of my Macs have started to crash on my iMac like iTunes, PS, AI, Safari.

I did a repair disk on the hard drive and it found some problems and corrected it. But then a few days later it started giving me problems again like it would freeze all of a sudden and I would have to pull the plug. So I had to repair disk again. The attached pic is what shows up.

Any help appreciated.

So I tried to format & install, and midway it gave me a message saying there was an error and try again. :(

I verified the disk and it says there's nothing wrong with it. What should I do now?

Call Apple and get a new drive. If you can't even do a clean install then it's likely hardware.

Called them, they told me to bring it in. It sucks to already have had to bring my Macbook in a few times this past year, now I have to lug this huge thing around.

I'm going to try to install it one more time.

So it turns out the Ram that I installed a week ago is causing all my problems. It's Apple certified so I thought it would work. Anyways, I'm going to do a memory test on it and see if it works.
