has anyone bought a new iMac with 2TB storage

my question is simple, i have 1.5TB external HD i wanna scrap, if i get 2TB option in my iMac and transfer files over, do u think it would make my iMac slow as it would be close to being full once i add programs and stuff.

i know on my Late 2007 MacBook when hard disk was at 90% full it slowed down a lot

you only want your boot/scratch hd half full basically .. 75% will slow dramatically

why not just keep the 1.5TB drive external?

You are paying $250 for a $150 drive, $100 for installation.

Is there something wrong with the external drive?

How can that be? He'll still have 500gb. That is another HD.

Hot Steam I suggest you do some tests on transfer rates on HD's at various storage levels. Since you clearly haven't done this yet as I have then maybe you should butt out in regards to advice or undermining others advice?
