Those of you that own the new iMac M1, when sitting on your desk, does it seem to sit stable?
Currently, I use a Mac Mini M1, and a 24" ACER monitor. Hence, I was thinking to 'upgrade' to an iMac. Saving space and all that.

But, when I look at the new iMac, they look flimsy. Hence, why I am asking about this...

Even when trying to plug into the back, it doesn't feel like it will tip or fall, it just spins a bit. That is on a laminated desk top.

It's so well balanced. Light but very stable. Easy to turn around with one hand but heavy enough to not shake.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Much appreciated. Now, to convince the Missus I need this, even though I have a Mac Mini M1 :)

It‘s too light and spins/slides too easily in my opinion. I compare to the old model which was heavier. When you pull out certain peripherals from the USB ports on this one the computer actually moves.

I have a 24" iMac which is my third iMac, the other two being 27". I have always anchored the imac to my desk, partly because I live in earthquake country.

I would say it is perfectly stable, but easy to slide (at least on my matte finish timber veneer desk). For me this is a good thing, as it is easy to push the iMac further away/closer if I want to.

The iMac should 'sit' okay on a desk like this, no?

I actually went to a Best Buy today, to see the iMac 24" in person.
Honestly, if the one I wanted was in stock, I would have purchased it. Alas...

Wait a bit for the 27" M1 iMac that's surely coming and decide after that.

Maybe bribe your wife by saying the Mac Mini can be hers? :)
