New iMac Memory Question......

I just purchased another 2 gigs of memory for my new Imac computer (Corsiar memory). I now have 3 gigs. I noticed that there was a Corsair sticker on the memory stick? My friend told me that I did not need to remove it when I installed the newmemory. Was he correct or should I have taken off the sticker that was on the memory stick before I ionstalled it in my Imac? Are these stickers heat resistant? I read somewhere by removing the stickers it invalidates the warranty.

Also, Apple says in their manual to use a #2 Phillips screwdriver to take off the latch to insert memory. Well I used one and it seems as though it stripped the screw now!!

I bought an extra 1gb stick to put in my 24" iMac, and if I remember correctly, there was a sticker and I left it on. I wouldn't worry about it too much. I doubt much heat is generated down there anyway.

Sometimes the company will void your warranty if you take the sticker off...

Leave it on... It won't hurt anything...

The vendor will usually void your warranty because by removing the sticker they can no longer track the origin and delivery of the memory. It won't hurt anything to leave the sticker on. Over time the glue will dry and the sticker may come loose. By then you will be ready for a new Mac.

I have the same problem... I just installed 2g of OWC memory in my 20'' (bringing it up to 3) yesterday and I can't seem to get the door back on all the way.. Ill be searching campus today for a better screwdriver.
