Been waiting for about 1.5 month now to buy a new Imac.
I'm reading alot that the new one will be released any day.

But is there any proof at all on this? First people did say early june, now late summer and so on..

Getting tired of waiting, but i really dont like to buy something and then in a week a new imac comes...;)

I've been waitingnsince late March. If you really need one then just buy one. I am dissapointed that Leopard has been delayed (as we all are) but my old Windows machine is still hanging on. I am just going to wait until Leopard comes out and then I will get one. I think Leopard will require a little more computer power and I am betting the imacs will recieve a boost at that point.

I hate it, but I can wait.

I hate the wait also, i was very close to purchasing a 24" yesterday, but i ended up not buying because they did not have the 24" with the nvidia 7600 gt card in it. So i decided that i would wait another week.

You have to simply compare how you would feel if something new came out the day after you bought yours to your current need for a computer. New iMacs will eventually come out, but there is currently no proof as to when, just a few educated predictions and a lot of guesses. It is MacRumors, so proof is not really expected.

I think you will only have to wait until sometime between the middle of July 2007 and middle of August 2007. Give it a bit more wait time. You will be disappointed if you buy now and they do update the imacs in July or Aug.

keep in mind, this is only a rumors website and everything reported is unconfirmed 'buzz' around apple products. you could wait until september first, after the allotted timeframe of july-august, and then the imacs could be updated september second.

if anyone knew anything substantial, it would be on page 1. the last page 1 report was this current mid-july-august timeframe, so feel free to wait, but don't be shocked if it happens earlier/later than you wanted it to.

true...especially since the computer you just bought (if you buy it) will burst into flames upon the announcement of an update.

Apple Employees: Come forward with some news!

I find it hard to believe that nobody knows anything solid about an imac refresh. Doesn't a publicly traded company need to keep its stockholders up to date on its intentions and various products in development?

Of all the (probable) Apple employees working on a new design for the imac, surely at least one of them must have spilled the beans to someone? Right? RIGHT?!?!?

ok i'm coming clean. the new imacs come out thursday febtober shmemf at precisely 1:30. they're going to be fantastic. new features include slot loading toaster, built in support for a segway (you lean into the computer, and it wheels you around (innovative!!)), it cooks, cleans, and other "house wife" features. did i meantion the 49 foot touch screen display yet? oh yea, and it's so sleek, you can barely see it. this is huge people.

Apple will want to ride the mind share wave they have right now with the iPhone. Expect the next iMac in August. Similar specs to the MBP's.

New iMacs

I've been waiting ages too. I had my eye on the 24" model last September but was reluctant to buy. Back then, I didn't mind waiting until March. By that time I thought new iMacs would have showed up - even if the top end model just got a paintjob to black.

Anyway, I finally cracked late last month and purchased one from the apple store online. HOWEVER, when it came I couldn't bring myself to open the box and set the damn thing up so I returned it (I'd be devastated if a new one surfaced this year). Refund came through at the start of this week so I'm now back to square one! But I'm happier knowing that my hard earned cash will be put to better use when the new one arrives. So long as they don't make the new one ugly or cabling isn't as neatly arranged at the back.

Since the naming changed from iBook to MacBook, and PowerBook to Mackbook Pro, does anyone think the name could change simply to Mac? I for one think it could.

No...Steve said he wanted 'Mac' in the product names...its already in the iMac...

Person one: I have a Mac
Person two: Cool! Which one?
Person one: A Mac
Person two: Yeah, but which version
Person one: Oh, its the mid-end one with the superdrive
Person two: No, I mean, which Mac type
Person one: The Mac
Person two: Which Mac?

One has to be smart when spending that kind of money in a computer, I bought my 24" iMac in October and I couldn't be happier! Weeeeeeeeeee.... However, if I was to buy one now I'd wait, and usually I'm all for "buy it when you need it" but in this case, I feel that new iMacs are just around the corner :)

New iMac with House-Wife features? Don't joke about this, when computers are able to satisfy your libido... most people (women and men) will just get a divorce! Why bother to meet someone? Give her/him stuff on birthdays and Christmas?? bah, human interaction... The downside is... the new iMac will be iJealous, which means that, if you use another computer, it'll delete all your files and iMoan about it to it's MacBook friends :D

And Woooooohoooo, Steve Jobs posted on MR! See above!!

Eh? Where?

It was a joke mate :) eheheh.

If Steve Jobs showed up in here the servers would go down in 5 minutes due to "OMG STEVE IS HERE!" and "WHY BLACK TURTLENECKS?" threads :D

I sometimes wonder if Steve lurks at these forums, not posting, just reading what the "target audience" is expecting and most importantly, what is not.
