New iMac, possible problem.

Hi there,

I just pressed the power button on my 2008 iMac to shut it off and some lines of text appeared in the upper left corner of the screen, something about 'debugger' and it wouldn't respond and had to force shut it down. Does anyone know anything about this?

Also do the Intel Macs start up with lines of 'terminal-style' text, as opposed to the G4s with the grey background with Apple logo?
