i just configured and purchased my iMac. Ended up putting more money into a SSD and only 16gb ram vs 32. My question is, does the 16gb version come with two 8gb sticks? And if so, can I purchase another two 8gb sticks and put them in there?

Since the 8G version comes with a pair of 4G sticks, I'm going to take a guess and answer No. It makes no sense for Apple to do otherwise.

You can purchase a pair of 16G sticks. This will give you 40G if I'm right and 48G if I'm wrong.

You can also wait till it gets there, fire up About This Mac and click on System Report and make your buying decision then.

I know... been there.

Thanks. I guess I’ll just wait before I put in an order for the memory.

Did you buy the 27" or 21.5"?
