Got my new 24'' iMac yesterday, and straight away noticed some yellowing down the right hand side of the screen. It's only really noticeable when you've got Safari open, or when there is a light background.

Needless to say, I'm calling Apple asap. Anyone else had this problem??? :(

Although I definitely urinated with excitement when it arrived, none of it went on the iMac.

Seriously though, it's so subtle that pics can't really show it. This opens up another question - is it really there? Or am I just superimposing yellowness after the MBP furore??

ok, the fact that you urinated over a computer is sort of off, but have you tried cleaning the computer?
is the glass yellowing?
is that part of the real screen actually yello?

Interesting. The iMac's have LCD monitors not LED. I've only heard of yellowing issues on the LED monitors and then only on the LED monitors manufactured by Samsung. The LG LED monitors (that I've heard about) have been OK.

Ok, here's a pic of where the yellowing is supposed to be. If anyone else can see it, please let me know. If there's nothing there, again, please let me know how paranoid I am. :apple:

Just a correction on a technicality. They both have LCD monitors. The iMacs have traditional fluorescent backlighting whereas the 15" MacBook Pros use LED backlighting.

You know, I do realize that these forums will show a skewed result of bad vs. good experiences with Macs. But it seems every product has initial quality issues of late. This being the latest.

But what's even worse than initial quality issues is that these problems may go unsolved. I had a 24" iMac that I sold for other reasons, but it did have those rev. a problems. Now they go and redesign it before they ever even got the white C2D 24" iMac right.

My point is, when was the last time they updated a line solely to fix bugs introduced in the first revision, instead of just replacing it with a newly designed revision A product with its own initial faults?

Can deffo see the yellowing on that image of the corner of the screen, but it may be accentuated by the angle. Is it yellow looking at it straight on?

I'm actually surprised that I haven't heard of any Rev A issues with the new iMac yet. I'm sure they'll come though.

This one doesn't seem to be a Rev A issue though. All products have a certain failure rate, and this one seems to have gotten a faulty LCD. Nothing that could have been prevented by R&D.

I'm curious though. Which issues were not fixed in the previous model?

From head on, the yellowing isn't there. It's something that I caught out the corner of my eye as soon as I first got the mac, and I wasn't sure if I was just imagining it. Looks like I'm not...

I can definitely see the yellowing. Both on the bottom right corner (rounded patch) and a much larger section on the top left section of your pic.
