New iMac Speakers??

Wondering how the new 24" Imac speakers sound. Good treble, bass? Loud?

the speakers are a big improvement over the previous generation for total volume.

no deep resounding bass. there is clear trebel and mids. little distortion until really pushing the sound.

recommend externals if you are an audiophile. i stick with my iems.

I'll agree that the speakers actually sound quite nice for their size. Certainly better than laptop speakers.

Can anyone suggest a good mini to optical solution for the iMac? I have the Logitech Z-5500 and want optical out when my new machine arrives.
