Hi all.

Well, I am simply in love with this machine! I have a 3.06 24" iMac ( the previous model - 8800gs ) with the memory upgraded to 4gig. Currently I am still being blown away by the entire mac experience, and am in the process of learning all the little nuances of mac life. I do, however, have a question regarding my iMac's temperatures.

In the old days of PC usage I had a machine that went POP due to overheating. Being old, grumpy and perhaps a little paranoid I grabbed the iStat widget so I could monitor my mac. The problem I have is that when I look at the temperatures inside my mac I have no idea whether or not they are normal! I was wondering if anyone would be willing to glance over them and give me a much more informed opinion that I am able to produce.!

Here's the temps...

HD: Macintosh 46
CPU A: 38
CPU Heatsink: 37
Airport card: 35
Ambient: 19
GPU: 43
GPU Diode: 50
GPU Heatsink 42

These temps are in degrees Celsius. The mac is not doing anything other than running Safari and Skype.

Are they ok?

Thanks for looking.

They are perfect. Computer can't really overheat if you do so light tasks with it (only if it's VERY old).

Thanks for the swift reply guys! It's appreciated.

I actually heard the iMacs fans earlier on. Was playing a little bit of WoW  and after about 30 minutes the fans were audible. I guess I should stop worrying and just enjoy the machine!

Once again, thanks.
