Hello,
SO yep! I recently just bought a iMac. Its the 21.5" 3.2GHz i3 8gb RAM 1TB HD. I also got some Bowsers and Wilkins MM-1 speakers which actually match the iMac as well!
I'm really pleased with this Mac. I installed Windows Vista on it via VMWare fusion, and that runs smoothly as well.
I'm mostly using this computer to type out reports, make photo edits, make a video edit, school related stuff such as homework, graphs, that type of thing.
Does anyone know what kind of other softwares/apps that I need? I currently have iLife '11, iWork '09, Office '11, VMware Fusion 3. I also purchased a Time Capsule 2TB wireless harddrive / router since my brother has the new Macbook Air 13", which is nice for both of us to have, and a upgrade from our previous crappy router.

Anyways, I'm glad to be part of the forum! I've been a longtime lurker, through the iPod Touch forums and iPhone forums as well.

I will do that tomorrow when I am not falling asleep on my desk :).

I got my first Mac two weeks ago after more than twenty years with Windows machines. It has been an easy switch over, to the point that my windows laptop has not come out of its case in that time and I wonder why I was so nervous about changing over.

This machine rocks!

I can do everything I did before and so much more, all so intuitive too. I'm enjoying working at my machine again. Something I haven't done for years.

Post a pic of ur setup

Is it like an inside joke that everytime you post your asking for pics? I've seen you in countless threads and EVERY SINGLE ONE, you're asking for pics.... Are you really just curious to see what everyone's iMacs look like? or are you just messin around...?

New people with new Macs should be encouraged to share. Pictures are the ultimate share..... And I really just like seeing new iMacs setup....

Im waiting for my new i5 to be delivered...longest day ever. I may post pictures later.

The Mac Format magazine usually has a "Reader's Mac" picture where folks show their desk or work-area and explain how their new Mac fits into their workflow or gaming routine.

Whatever you do DO NOT install the Norton software on your Mac!!!!! That stuff is total trash and is more apt to create problems than solve them. Return it immediately. It seems like you are going to load MS Windows on your iMac, for that partition yes load an antivirus solution. The OS X side does NOT need antivirus software.

DL avast! From cnet.com for windows anti virus

+1
get rid of norton , it should be classed as malware, like norton for windows its just slowing down every bit of the system , if you are realy worried about that there might one day be a virus for mac out there ,then get something like iAntivirus , small and doesn't effect performance , and avast is a good choice for windows
