Man, I couldn't stand it. I have been wanting an imac for many months now and I have been waiting for the new os x. But, i couldn't wait any longer and bought one today. I currently am using a cob job linux os and it sucks. Can't wait to get the new imac in a week or so.

it's a good buy, worst case is you have to buy 10.5, but who knows when it will be out anyways?

the chin is wayyy exaggerated. It's really not that bad, and certainly is not a deal breaker. the HP thing looks cool, but people buy Macs for the OS. Its also not something I'd want on my desk, personally.

I wholy agree with this! Why does everyone hate the chin? Why not hate the love handles on the mac pro or maybe the ears on that HP thing?

Even taking the superior Mac OS out of the equation, I'd still take my iMac any day over that thing from HP. The iMac's "chin" has never bothered me one bit either.

I think you're going to be waiting a long time. I can't see apple changing the current design except perhaps with some little tweaks like a bit thinner or a slightly smaller chin. But even that I doubt because it's more important to have room for everything in a desktop.

oh, and that HP is hideous. I mean, compared to an imac? It's a clunky mess.

Am I the only one who likes the infamous iMac "chin"?
It seems a little bulky on the 17" but otherwise it looks like part of the design.

At first I wasn't a fan of the new iMac design, but now that I have one, I think it is great. I use the chin for post-it's, perfect place and they are always right there in eye's view.

I think it looks great, too. Those computer parts have gotta go somewhere, and that's a great place for them. Can't wait to get mine!

Congrats on your new iMac! You'll love it.

I like the chin on my 20" iMac. I've gotten so used to it that it looks natural to me. And if it disappeared, where would the Apple logo go?

I think it would look really weird without the chin; with the Apple logo, it looks perfect.

I've noticed the chin is the exact same size from each model, I'm glad it looks so damn small on my 24"er. :)

Even though it's slower, I still love the iMac G4's design the best. You better keep it. :p

I don't mind the chin. It's not adding much to the iMac really (I've got 24inch), and its where the IR reciever is, so I'm cool with it.

HopsHead... What model did you buy?
