I have a white imac core2duo, my questions is what does everyone think about upgrading to the new imac. I like the new style better. I also have a macbook pro, I am also wanting to test drive a glossy screen. Is this a foolish more/waste of money? The added speed with not matter.

It's really just personal preference.
If you can afford it, and really want the glossy iMac, go for it.

I want the white one myself.
Currently using the MBP as well, only w/ glossy screen.
I like it, but want a matte iMac.

Your imac is fairly recent, and you have an MBP. If you want an iMac like experience, instead of footing over $1000 for it, buy an external monitor, a wireless aluminum apple keyboard, and a new mighty mouse and put your MBP in clamshell mode. Tada! Your new base station. Plus, you can sell your white imac before it gets too old and get good returns on it. That's what I'd do at least :D.

EDIT: I wish I had a matte screen, the glossy screen hurts my eyes sometimes. Also, the imac screen (20") shows some ghosting during movies. On the plus side, it has a lot of contrast.
