New iMac's at Macworld 2009?

Hi im new to this site, im looking to buy my very first mac which will be the iMac that I was gonna buy before Christmas. But with all this hype about new iMac's coming out during Macworld 2009 I think ill just wait to see what will happen. But my question is, and this is probably a really stupid question, is there anyway to watch Macworld 2009 on television considering i wont be there? Thanks for the help.

No, not stupid at all. And welcome to MacRumors! The show isn't publicly broadcasted on TV, though you'll easily be able to view a streamed quicktime via Apple's own website soon after. It's not live, but you'll still get to see all the action. :)

So am i..but i just want it to come already..ive been dying for an iMac for the past year now and my parents finally offered to buy me one for Christmas and now i have to wait until January! And even when/if they do introduce new iMacs, how do we even know if their gonna be available in january?
 
What will you be using it for? If you don't need the extra speed then just get an iMac for Christmas. The case won't be changed as the new MacBooks were just designed around the iMacs. Just get one for Christmas, the current generation are amazing!

We don't know when in 2009 Apple will release the iMacs. There haven't been any iMac rumors since Apple stated that no updates would happen this year.

Intelligent speculation + past Mac releases seem to point to these possible dates.
  • MWSF 2009 (the bigger the update, the higher the chance)
  • Last week of January
  • Last week of February
  • Sometime in the spring, like April
Pick one and hope for it. :p

Yea like i love the generation thats out now and i dont really need the extra speed since its only gonna be my room computer to do schoolwork and chat wit friends, but the only thing is is that if they do annouce new ones, the iMac's that are out now will still be available but for a little less money right?
 
I doubt they will be a lower price, but we have to wait and see. I am in the same position as you.
 
im buying this gen imac no matter the outcome of macworld but,

i think i'll still wait, my question is, will they stop selling this gen referbished if i wait?
 
That's how i feel. Plus i am remodeling, and if i did by one it would be sitting in a box for about 2 weeks....
