Back in January, I went through THREE 27-inch models (two i5s and one i7). They all had yellow screens.

I decided with this update I'd try the $1499 21.5 inch model, refreshed models, plus *different* screen size. Surely I'd have no issue?

The computer arrived today from Amazon.

Nope, immediately noticed bottom 1/4 of screen and ENTIRE right side of the screen has the yellow/dirty cast. I keep iTunes on the right side of my screen, and the white from it looks awful, yellow.

Open macrumors full screen, and you notice the beautiful display in the upper left quadrant, and the very nasty color of the rest the display.

How can Apple keep pumping out these machines with bad displays?

The real shame? This computer is *FAST*. Core i3 may sound low end, but it's mega quick. It's physically gorgeous too, and this size fits so much better on my desk.

However, I am not going to look at a yellow screen each day.

Sadly, I wil return it immediately to Amazon (thank goodness I didn't use migration assistant and would then have to wipe the drive).

I will try the next revision, or wait until I can afford a Mac Pro and a professional display of some kind.

For now, I'll continue with my older Core 2 Duo iMac (still very competent) with a second cinema display attached to it for extra real estate.

A true shame. In my opinion, these yellow iMacs should be making the news, NOT the iPhone 4, which works great for me.

The yellow tint you see is a defect in your eyes not the iMac. I highly doubt you got 4 defective screens in a row from apple.

No, I think *almost* everyone is defective. Not Apple's fault, probably LG's fault. You guys don't know how much I love Apple.

I buy *everything* they make. iPhones, iPads, Airport Extremes, Apple TV, etc. This is the only thing I've ever seen like this.

I watch the keynote text updates live and everything. I'm the biggest Apple fan and would defend them like crazy, but this is wild.

I'm going to set it up in a spare room and just leave the computer on with the display on full brightness for a week, to make sure that doesn't help it.

However, it's so obvious. Honestly, iTunes on the right side of the screen is yellow/dirty/ugly, and on the left side iTunes is bright, white, crisp, and lovely.

Ok, I'm going to go hookup my old computer and cinema display again and move this out to the other room. It pains me to do it. It's a *gorgeous* computer, fast computer, and everything you could ever want in a computer. Except the display is just awful. I'm on white background things like iTunes and web browser all the time, perhaps that is why I notice it more?

IMO Apple has done a much better job addressing the yellow tint issue in 27" iMacs than the 21.5" models. Recent 27" iMacs I've seen have been very uniform compared to earlier builds but the 21.5"-ers are still as bad as ever...

Another fan boy who thinks Apple is God =/ Jeez, There is a yellow tint issue, there is nothing wrong with his eyes. I've had it on my two imacs, I've had about 6 or so monitors in the past and they did not suffer from the yellow tint issue.. Someone posted earlier it probably has to do with the fact that everything is jammed in a tiny enclosure..

Whatever the reason all I can say is the problem does exist, my old imac 21.5" had the issue but it was pretty minor, I got replacement and my current one has an even more noticeable yellow tint on the bottom right.. Now I can't speak for everyone who has a imac, but its no secret the iMacs do have a yellow tint issue, I just hope Apple finds a fix for it soon..

I'm actually looking to upgrade, even though it means there might be that yellow tint.. better to just live with it, its too much of a hassle going to apple again and again..

Very good information dwarnecke11. It sounds like my decision to switch to the 21.5 in this revision, thinking that might help, new revision and new size, was a wrong move.

I'm glad to hear 27s are better!

Yeah, some people had 5 and 6 (on the previous model). This model looks not much better... Yes, I know, it defies statistics.
