So, with the next iMac refresh, I'm planning on buying a new iMac as I have a pre-infared 20" G5 iMac with a matte screen. I understand the resolution of the glossy screens are better, but I can't stand seeing myself in the reflection. Any speculation on if the matte screen will at the very least be an option for future generation iMacs? Thanks!

There is no difference in the resolution, it is just the glossy cover masks the appearance of the pixels. On the iMac, you already have the option, as the glossy screen can be easily removed. All you need are some suction cups on sticks to pry it from its magnetized perch. I used my dad's GPS arm for his car windshield and removed it, just to see that I could, then put it back, no harm, not foul.

Except that leaves the LED screen exposed, which is not a good idea. Not to mention, it isn't a user-removable part, and will void AppleCare should they see it missing.
