New iMacs with better graphics cards?

Hi -

Has anyone heard of an iMac update with a better graphics card? Given the focus lately on Mac games, and with Boot Camp officially released in Leopard, I was hoping that Apple would do a better job of supporting gamers. I was going to buy a 24" iMac Extreme, but I don't want to do that if new version is forthcoming. An upgradable graphics card would be especially welcome ;-).

If it does come it will come quietly. Not much available yet thats a whole lot better than the 2600 in the current iMac. Maybe when the 8800m comes out in a few weeks.

They just updated the iMacs, they wont update it again so soon or risk upsetting a great deal of people including myself who just ordered one.

I have to admit having read a lot about the video card before I bought my iMac I was worried. But as a casual gamer when using XP in Boot Camp I have to say I´m very satisfied with the graphics I have been getting. It´s not crashed once or flickered. I followed some advice on here and updated the drivers, again not a single problem. I have said it before, but my new iMac plays PC games better than my old PC did and for that I am very satisfied as I am with the resolution I am using and the quality.

I am not a die hard gamer who wants water cooled, dual graphic cards and a physics card to get the most amazing resolutions available. I doubt there are many PC users out there who get them either.

Sure Apple probably will upgrade the graphics card, but I bet the card they upgrade it with, no matter the make or size will be shot to pieces by the gaming enthusiasts.

As has been said on these boards many times, if you want a real gaming machine, stick with the PC. I can certainly say there is much more to the iMac experience than just gaming.

I followed some advice on here and updated the drivers, again not a single problem.

Any special instructions for this other than just going to the ATI site and downloading the latest drivers for it and installing?

Or if your a hardcore gamer, buy a gaming machine! Cheaper and made for such activities.....
