Intel will ship the 7-nanometer chip Ice Lake in 2021, will Apple use it in their iPads?

They are promising "approximately" 3 times faster wireless speeds, 2 times faster video transcode speeds, 2 times faster graphics performance, and 2.5 to 3 times faster AI performance over previous generation products.

Considering last year Apple already released a 7nm chip, their own A12, no. Why would they change architectures this far in? If anything, all indications are that Apple is moving away from Intel.

Except where they bought Intel's modem division.

Intel is still struggling to release 10 nm chips at volume, let alone 7 nm chips. Apple will not be putting Intel processors in the iPad anytime soon, especially considering how powerful Apple A series chips have become in the last few years.

Apple is still sucking major D from Qualcomm buying Intel’s modem division was mostly about acquiring their patents so Apple can develop its own in house cellular data And CPU SoC. Currently they are still beholden To Qualcomm.

No. Apple would be insane to use Intel's IL 7nm in their iPads; they've moved on with their A-series chips - and will probably start putting them into their MacBooks soon.

No x 10^9

Anyway, by the time Intel releases Ice Lake, global warming will have melted it. And, I don't think 7nm will be Ice Lake, but some other stupid name.

I'm trying to make the connection with an x86-64 processor to an ARM processor, but I can't. If there were about a Surface laptop, I could see it.

more possible is Apple will ditch Intel. Apple will likely partner with AMD once AMD hits 5nm 12 Core Mobile chips.
Investors demand profit margins, can you imagine the volume pricing discount AMD would give Apple over Intel for Mobile Laptop CPUs and possibly in iMacs

also 1000% guranteed the MacPro update in 2025 or when ever will be using an AMD ThreadRipper or EPYC CPU and AMD motherboard.

Huh? That's for laptops/ desktops.

Besides why would Apple switch to Intel for iPad's when Apple has very powerful ARM Cpu's and the A14 most likely will be 5nm.
