New iOS18 iMessage Bug??

I updated to DB3 yesterday, and now also have RCS activated by my carrier.

Since then though, when I react to my wife with a laugh, etc like we could do where it shows at the top of a text for iMessage users, now my wife shows mine coming through like how texting android would, where it shows a separate text where I am reacting to her post.

Anyone else experiencing this?

reactions have been a mixed bag for me the entire beta, most of the time they work but I’ll get the old school reaction text every once in a while, and sometimes the other person receives them from me. TMO 15PM

I think that if the other user is not on the Beta, it does it in a new line. That is what my family is showing and what I am thinking. There were features in the past like edit, where it acted like that.

As with any software with new features like RCS or new iMessage emoji, if the other end (user) is not on the same version or updated, they won't see/benefit from the new stuff. Same new line response or gibberish text.

It works on and off as supposed to and my wife is on ios17 and my buddy on Android also seems to get it both ways also, just odd
