I noticed a few new iPad 2 cases from Speck pop up at a computer component distributor's website. They show up by searching by part number on Amazon's site.

First is a "Handyshell" case:

Has a loop on the back that pops out that looks like can either pop out for use as a stand or pop to the side to slide your hand in.

Second is "CandyShell Wrap". The cover is apparently removable, so this might be the perfect version of the PixelSkin.

Third is "ComfyShell"

They also have a line of shells called "SmartShell" which, guess what, is a shell that works with the Smart Cover.

Sorry speck but two strikes and you're out. . . . Please don't over-saturate the market with more awful cases. Leave some room on the target shelves for competitors...

I bought a Speck folio for my iPad2 last week when I bought my iPad. It's got the hard case and fake leather front that also serves as a stand and I'm happy with it but will be replacing it with a SwitchEasy Cover because I want the magnet that turns it on and off.

I don't think the Speck is the top of the line but it'll do for a few weeks till I buy the SE cover

Yah, sorry.. I resurrected figuring there were enough case threads.. thought I'd see if anyone had tried the handyshell yet.

That's because the post is 2 months old :)

That said... I have never been wowed by Speck's iPhone cases, so I can't imagine ponying up for an iPad case from them. The quality was just dismal.

Btw, their earlier gen (2007-8) MacBook cases were piles of sh$&
