New iPad 2018 Pro's - Time for new battery

My iPad AIR has been getting slower and the battery shorter.... IOS 12 has helped with the speed. I considering a new iPad Pro, but really - prices begin at $799 for an iPad with the same amount of memory? Apple repairs that start on the new 2018 Pro $600+?

I understand it's a big step up from an AIR.... still.

Time to give Apple $99 on replacing the battery in my Air.
