New iPad- how to restore

Hi all.

I was gifted a new iPad and would like to transfer everything over from my old iPad. My question is if I backup my old iPad to iCloud and restore from that, would it effect my iPhone backup? Would it be easier to download and restore from iTunes? I don’t want to sync my iPhone to the iPad, just iPad to iPad.

I may be thinking too much into this but couldn’t find any definitive answer and figured everyone here knows way more than I do.

When you set up the new iPad, you choose which backup to use for restore. You can select any iOS device's backup in your iCloud account as the source.
