iPad Pro New iPad Pro 11 using BCM47755 GPS Chipset?

Anyone here getting worse or better GPS signal reception compared to iPad 10.5 Pro?
 
Super signal reception and performance. iPad Pro 11”
802.11AC and got a new Router 802.11AC MU-MIMO Router to match.

When it comes to WiFi you have to go MU-MIMO since everything from my Samsung Washer and Dryer now need WiFi to multiple phones and guests and home security cameras.

#2. QuadCore Router cpu
#3. Tri-Band

Mine works fine but GPS accuracy is off and takes some time to lock. The more satellites the chipset has access to the better.

Are you even referring to the gps performance anywhere?

GPS generally needs 3 or 4 satellites in order to determine a location, if I’m not mistaken. Could the issue be related to you being not in an area where multiple satellites are reachable?
 
hi, i have a wifi iPad pro and it seems it does not have GPS at all.
1. does that make any sense?
2. if so can i share my iPhone and use its GPS ?

Your're correct in that the the WiFi iPad Pro does not have a GPS chip in it so it cannot receive GPS signals. However, it can get location information from a WiFi connection. But, no WiFi connection = no location information. As for using the phone's GPS, there is really no way get its GPS info to apps on the iPad. If you want GPS on your iPad, the best bet is a Bluetooth GPS receiver like the Bad Elf -

There are other models from other vendors you could look at.

Pretty sure if you buy the cellular iPad Pro you get the GPS chipset. It likely has whatever is in the iPhone XS series. It's been similar in ability to my XS Max

I was staying in line with the thread starter. No wifi unit has GPS. It's always been that way.

I'm also pretty sure the modems which are in these would also be the Intel Modems. Seriously wish Apple would just go buy Qualcomm and call it a day. Get the better modems, screw android users, and have access to better materials. Particularly with their own chipset guys quitting.

Got it - sorry on that.

Given what's happened, I doubt Apple will ever use Qualcomm again.

I found this out the hard way back in the day. When I bought the original iPad I got the cellular model. Back then service was quite expensive and I rarely used it, so when I bought an iPad 2 I saved a few bucks and bought the WiFi only model. I was very upset to find out there was no GPS. Back then (don't know about today) Apple didn't make that obvious in their comparisons.

I somehow found this out when I bought my first iPad 4 years ago - the Air 2. I bought the cellular version specifically for the GPS, not the connectivity. When I upgraded to the 10.5, I bought the LTE version again.
 
For personal use and those that travel often the LTE is a no brainer must to get on an iPad Pro. Even then with a bigger surface I expect better and stronger coverage as they have more space for bigger and better antennas
