Hi all

I just bought a new iPad Pro 12.9. I had the old 2015 but sold it. My understanding is that the flash has moved making many cases incompatible between the two models. If I have zero plans to use the flash (or actually take a photo at all really with a giant slab of glass) can I use an older case?

On a separate note if anyone has any suggestions for cases, I would appreciate it. I need some kind of case or stand to hold the iPad in portrait mode/vertical.

Thanks for the help!

My understanding is that the older cases are fine as long as you don’t care about the rear flash. I’ve seen mention of a mic back there that may also be blocked, but plenty of people use the old cases. I just ordered one of the Apple silicone ones off of eBay for use with the second generation.

Thanks. That's helpful for my shopping. Anyone have any recommendations for a collapsable stand or portrait mode case stand for the 12.9?

The Logitech Slim Book allows you to use it both in portrait and landscape mode. However, it does come with a keyboard as well if you needed it (if not, just detach it and re-attach when needed).

I love my case and recommend it to others all the time. And, it also is compatible for both 2015 and 2017 models!
