Prior to obtaining my 2018 iPad Pro (this thing is gorgeous), I made an iTunes backup of my 2nd gen iPad Pro. Got the new one, did a restore from backup, and the device is now configured and running and everything is great ... but it's literally downloading all the apps via wifi rather than syncing them from my iTunes. I've tried manually clicking 'sync' and other than making sure it's got TV shows up to date on my device, it doesn't bother with the apps.

It's going to take hours to download all these apps ... is there something I'm doing wrong?

That’s odd, did my 2018 gen 3 today from a LOCAL iTunes backup of my gen 1 and all went well. Is your backup iCloud or local? I did notice many apps were grayed out when I first woke it up, but they quickly returned to normal appearance - I thought that maybe they were ‘synching’ with my iCloud account to determine if I’d exceeded the number of app ‘licenses’. Anyway, all is well now.

I have both iCloud and local backups. When I did my restore from backup, I restored from the local backup, and when that was done (apps still greyed out), I clicked on 'sync' in iTunes. Regardless, it's still downloading everything over the internet ... which rather sucks.
[doublepost=1541636305][/doublepost]From a duplicate thread I posted in the iOS forum, someone pointed out this link:

Guess I'm out of luck! At least I can stop fussing with it and let it do its thing.
