New iPad Pro still have map direction issues?

I have a 9.7 iPad Pro and when heading Southbound on the 5 Freeway in Irvine the map would show me on the other side as if I was heading North. This is the same whether using Google Maps or Apple Maps. Anyone else have this issue. If one changes view angle then it shows it as heading east (side to side).

Car electronics can interfere.

Not having the phone/iPad in a good sight line with multiple satellites can interfere.

It happens to me with the iPhone 6. I had three different iPhone 6, but the problem did not change.
No issues whatsoever with iPhone 5c and iPad Pro 9.7.

Apparently you must get lucky to fish the right chip on your device
