My employer is offering an employee discount through its discount program - $250 off any Ipad from apple.com

I am not in the market for Ipad, but does this mean that we are going to see an updated Ipad soon?

This seems a bit early at this point, but who knows. Rumors are flying around about updated Iphone (to fix Antenna issue), maybe they have something in the works for Ipad?

It's unlikely. We would have heard about production slowing down and stores having low stock on it. But still worth it to wait after today. And $250 off?! That's an amazing deal.

I know. Made me look into Ipad now. Hence my browsing Ipad forums :D

They had $150 off Ipod (makes sense with today's refresh) and $250 off Ipad (which I thought was strange)

I'm totally expecting a new iPad today.

Facetime is the only thing that make me think that though.

Unlikely since apple have only just got to the point where production is meeting demand and the current model faces no real competitors yet. If anything, perhaps a smaller screen model but the rumour mill hasn't picked up on anything like this.

I'm eagerly awaiting the 7" iPad that is rumored to be out before the end of the year.

Traveling, I found that the current model was too big for me. It works great at home, but when I carry an iPhone, MacBook Pro and all that goes along with that kit, even keeping it to a minimum, adding a full size iPad to the bag just didn't work for me.

Also in cramped quarters like the airliners I fly on so frequently, the smaller 7" version will be ideal.

I am ready to buy, the moment it's released.

I expect everyone's panties to get tied into a bunch in this thread, as if a new iPad coming our for the Holiday season will change the functionality of their current model.

For $250 off, it's a no-brainer. Either you get an awesome device for cheap or you sell it and make $200.

BTW, they do make a smaller versions of the iPad. They're called the iPhone and iPod! This iPad is about the perfect size. Couldn't imagine it being smaller, especially for typing.

I know my iPad stopped working halfway through the presentation due to being obsolete. Didn't yours?

Isn't that what we're getting all worked up about?

Don't tell me other iPads are still working? You mean the Obsolete Demons didn't sneak into your home and melt your iPad?!

Wait, why are we outraged again? Sometimes I need a chart of why I'm supposed to be mad on the internet. It's hard to keep up.

Most unrealistic post ever.

Well, to be fair I was expecting iOS 4 to hit iPads today. Considering that has been put off until November, I will hold off on expecting new iPad's being announced until iOS comes out.

Now, I'm not expecting much out of the new ipad other than a front-facing camera and (MAYBE) a RAM increase. It's going to be a very uninspiring upgrade but when iOS 4 for iPad hits, a new iPad with a front camera for FaceTime will hit or, at least, be announced.

Your expectations need to based on something more realistic than wishful thinking.

Ipad is a joke if the would it put an operating system then yes is definitely worth the purchase but they didn't is an over sized iphone with no camera and no call no usb nothing really. and they try to make it sound like they are selling that device cheap come on 630 for a 3g one, come one over ******* price i love apple but the problem with them is that they overprice everything and they're always talking **** about windows i don't like that about then
