I just got my Pacific blue iPhone yday and it looks like there’s a small spot/bubble on the back that doesn’t go away even after cleaning it with an alcohol swab (see attached photo). I was wondering if anyone else’s iPhone came with this type of spot/bubble and if I should try and exchange it? The problem for me is neither of the 2 apple stores near me have the 128 GB pacific blue in stock right now so wouldn’t be an easy process since I would have to return it via mail to Apple and reorder it which would take at least another 2-3 weeks and would be such a hassle. Would it be possible to exchange it (for the same color/storage size) even after my 14 days are up since it’s just a cosmetic issue that should be covered by the warranty? Any advice is appreciated!

You should have till 1/8/2021 to initiate the return since apple is current on the extended holiday return effective 11/10. Did you get the sim free model?

Mine was perfect out of the box, albeit I got the standard 12 in Green which has a glass back instead of the matte finish on the back of the Pro. Not sure if this issue is limited to just the Pro or Pro Max. If it bothers you, exchange it, especially since you paid a premium for it.

I understand you want a 100% pristine phone out of the box, but some things just aren’t worth the hassle sometimes, and I’d file this under that column.

You could play the return lottery and end up with a real defect with the replacement.
Then return that one too. 99% of phones don’t have defects. If it’s a lottery, it’s the backwards kind...

Not true. More often than not you'll find things like a dead pixel, a spec of dust under the camera glass (very common) and even a spec of dust under the glass screen.

I had this on the power button, and top of the frame and replaced with a new one thats perfect.

All these sheep saying this is fine are WRONG, you paid $1000+ for this and you should expect top quality build.

Take it back, it's not a lottery it's just bad luck.

No sheep in this thread. Leave your insults out of the discussion.

Whoa there. Nobody is right and nobody is wrong. If it really bothers someone and is worth the hassle to them to return it and hope for a better one, then have at it.

If everything else was fine on the OP's iPhone, I certainly would not go to the trouble of exchanging it for another.

Someone that isn't bothered by the slight imperfection of the OP's phone is not a 'sheep'.

Some care some don’t. Once you put a case on it you will forget about it. In the end it’s you’re money. Do what you wanna do not what others tell you. Good luck.

I have the same problem. I’ve already contacted Apple support and I’d try to return the phone to the reseller tomorrow

I can’t edit my previous message. Minor update here.
I returned the iPhone to the local reseller a week ago and now I’m waiting for the diagnostics results. It shouldn’t take more than 20 days. Hooray :(

upd2. I received the results. It’s a factory flaw. Now I’m waiting for the restock

ABSOLUTELY spot on!
You pay a premium you expect quality, anyone who settles for less is a nothing more than a mug. (Sorry!)

This isnt a game, you pay for something and in return you expect that very thing delivered.
If Apple want to offer some form of discount then that's a different matter, however nobody should get less just for being in the wrong odds.

Those people who say those people would be wrong are usually the ones that are wrong

Accepting poor quality is exactly how things get in to a downward spiral.
If you want to charge a premium let alone sell a product then guess what, you deliver..

Different people have different priorities. For me, my time is valuable. Spending hours to rectify a tiny blemish on the back of a phone I'll put a case on anyway isn't worth the opportunity cost. To each his own though.
