I just bought a new iphone 14 pro last week. In imessages some photos that I have sent to friends now show up as the picture below with question marks instead of photos. The pictures were there when I sent them and the person is receiving them. But the next day the photos on my end appear as question marks. Has this happened to anyone else? Also no option to download the pics. And they are not showing up under photos for that text thread.

I have essentially the same problem. All photos in iMessage on my iPhone, sent and received before this past week, have been replaced by question marks and file names. Please see the image below for an example. Sometime during this past week I had received a message that my iCloud storage was full. Could that have forced conversion of the photos to ❓? However, this did not happen to photos in iMessage on my iPad Pro 6th gen. Closing and reopening the app, force restarting, turning off iMessage in iCloud, and resetting network settings did not fix the problem. I know I can always download the images again, but I’d like to understand why this happened so I can avoid it in the future. Please help.
