I do not currently have an iphone. I'm trying to decide whether to get the 3Gs now or wait till the next update is released. I am happy to wait for the next update however the only thing that puts me off is the potential cost. Currently I can get the 3Gs for appx £90 on 24 month contract. Will the 4G be super expensive when it comes out? If so I might be better just getting the 3Gs now as I know I can afford it rather than waiting for an iphone I can't afford. I've tried to find info on how much previous iphones cost when they were released (inital cost + tariffs offered) but haven't had much luck. Any thoughts would be helpful.

I would assume that the a lot if the cost would be ate by the carrier that your using. I would imagine between 199 to 299.

Since the 3G was released in 2008, the prices in the UK have hardly changed at all. I wouldn't expect anything different when the new model comes out later this year.

It'll be between $299 and $399.

However, I could be wrong, and it'll be $499.

But then again, it could be $199.

Now that I think about it, Steve wants more money, so it could be $599.
