WWDC 2010 is June 28, 2010 to Friday July 2, 2010 and that is when all the rumors say we will see the new Iphone "4G" announced.

I am close to purchasing my first Iphone, (I have a 32gb ITouch), right now the only thing holding be up is waiting to see if I get lucky and the company goes with AT&T next month when the company cell contract is up. If so, I buy the Iphone and company pays the monthly fees. So if that happens Ii buy now. No real choice.

But if the company goes to Verizon, big possibility, this time. I plan on buying my own Iphone, I WANT IT. so then its do i want till the next Iphone is out. or not.

So my question is this. please answer from those that know from past experience, how long is it from the announcement to actually having the new model available in stores?

i know people say wait, but those usually the ones that already have a I phone this is just killing me.

2 weeks to 30 days.

You've waited this long, you should hold off and get the latest when it becomes available. I know it's painful, but just think how happy you'll be when you finally get your mitts on it.

I recommend you wait, the touch is giving you the basic functionality, except that you have to carry around a phone as well. iPhone 4g will be dramatically different, it has to be to keep up with the things android is doing. The iPhone is far behind android in every category except the App Store, iphone 4 will fix that and it should be epic.

Apple doesn't base their future devices on what the competition does or doesn't have. Look at your Apple history. Never has been. Never will. And Apple will continue to be successful whether forum peeps are disappointed or not. They know what they're doing.

I would wait if I were you. I had an Iphone 3G. I currently have a Blackberry Bold 9700. I regret going from iphone to blackberry. I am waiting till the new iteration comes out before I go back.

I bought the iPhone 3G the day it came out and have been eligible to upgrade my AT&T phone since December, but I am waiting to get the next iPhone this June or July, depending on when it comes out. I was tempted to get a 3GS for myself for Christmas, but decided to wait.

Verizon

is not likely at least not 4G. as has been stated in tons of threads here. but people will to continue to dream! there are countless threads similar to this. still comes down to if you can wait if you can then wait see what happens. if ya gotta have it now then get it now! ;) another iphone plus they have great resale value!

Same here, I am a little worried about them blocking the JB because I like to customize my phone but we will see how things shake out.

I am hoping the next update is a significant upgrade.

We hope it will be dramatically different, or even a bit different really, but I'm not holding my breath for anything all that special. None of us actually have a clue though OP.

If I was you I'd wean myself off iPhone blogs and deal. The craving will wane eventually and you'll make it through to June and be that much happier for waiting I expect.

I made myself do it with another gadget this month, which has been out since August. They'll probably update it within 2 months of me buying it, so I'm waiting.

I say the bigggest feature wont be what the phone does, but it will be how the phone looks. I predict a glossy Black/white Metal casing with LED 3.8" Screen:D

Well its looking like I will be getting a cheapy flip phone on Verizon from the company. Wow this will be a stop down from the Blackberry im used to, been long time since I have had a plain old dull phone.

So looks like i will just get an IPhone on the family plan with my wife and daughter's family. I jsut cant to without my personal email, chat etc, that im used to having.

I will probalby go ahead and get a 3Gs and then once July gets here take a look at the new model and see what it does. My wife will be due an upgrade and I can use her upgrade to get me the new model if i want, and then sell the 3Gs.

She siad that was fine with her, just glad she is not it all the tech stuff like me.

I just cant live with only a flipper phone. Uggg
