I just bought an new iphone 5c 8gb and It doesnt turn on...I am pressing the sleep/wake button for over 10 seconds and nothing happens...

What should I do? this is the first time it has happened to me...(I had previously bought 2 iphones and the did start...)

Also I havent charged it.... in the instruction paper it says press the sleep/wake button for some seconds and follow in on screen instructions

My point is, is it normal for the battery to be completely empty? All the iphones do open and have some battery when you first boot them

If I go back to the store with the phone will I get an exchange or they will tell me this is normal and it just need to be charged?

thnks in advance

All you can do is try to charge it. If it still doesnt start after an hour or so then you have no choice but to exchange it.

On the iPhone hold down the Sleep/Wake Button and Home button together until the Apple Logo shows. Then On seeing this Apple Logo release both buttons ,and the iPhone will reset , which has been known to clear most glitches.
